Undergraduate Maths and Chemistry
If you're studying mathematics or chemistry at university and want to strengthen your understanding, I can help you build clarity and confidence. With a PhD in mathematics and years of experience teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, I specialise in supporting students to make sense of challenging material and connect abstract concepts in meaningful ways. My sessions are individually tailored to your needs, working from your current level of understanding to build deeper insight and stronger problem-solving skills. Whether you're aiming to improve your performance, fill in gaps, or push your learning further, I’ll provide clear explanations, practical strategies, and a supportive environment that helps you thrive in your studies.
Tutoring
I tailor each session to the student’s current level of understanding, focusing on building deep comprehension, confidence, and problem-solving skills. My approach is grounded in educational research and encourages students to make meaningful connections, not just memorise procedures.
Sessions are available afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Secondary students and home-schoolers
I help students unlock their full potential in maths by building on their current level of understanding and tailoring each session to their individual needs, guiding them toward deep, lasting comprehension. My tutoring approach is all about building confidence and curiosity, so your child not only improves their grades but also develops a deeper appreciation for maths by making meaningful connections. With personalised lessons paced just right for your child, I create a supportive space where questions are encouraged and progress is celebrated. Partnering with you, I aim to turn frustration into “aha” moments, giving your child the tools to succeed now—and in the future.

Testimonials
"Mark has made Maths fun and his approach to teaching me has helped me understand maths."
Laila
Secondary Student
“This is a brilliant subject, and Mark is a brilliant teacher. He has rekindled a love of mathematics and made me feel much more comfortable at the prospect of teaching it”.
Stephen
Pre-service maths teacher
"In school she was 2-3 years 'behind' the recommended level for her year level and age according to the Victorian standards. She was doing specialist classes at school three times a week and there was no progression at all. She absolutely hated maths, it caused her significant amounts of anxiety and stress. She's a different kid now, she enjoys her maths lessons, she's engaging in maths activities and games in her outside time. She is genuinely interested in solving maths problems... if you had have told me two years ago this would be her now I truly wouldn't have believed it! !"

"Mark has an incredible understanding of science and maths concepts. He uses visual representations to really make sure the student knows what happens in the maths formulas and any other sort of arithmetic. That sort of teaching isn't easy to execute but Mark does it effortlessly. "
