# About Maths That Clicks

**Maths That Clicks** is an Australian-based maths education site created by **Mark Sorrell**, an experienced mathematics educator and tutor.

The site helps students, parents, and teachers develop conceptual understanding in mathematics. It publishes blog posts, teaching insights, and learning resources to support effective learning and confidence-building. It also contains information on my tutoring style and contact details and FAQ for tutoring.

Maths That Clicks occasionally includes **affiliate links** to resources and tools that I personally use and recommend. These links help support the ongoing maintenance of the site at no extra cost to readers.

It publishes **blog posts, teaching insights, and learning resources**, and also provides **information on tutoring style, FAQs, and contact details** for one-on-one support.

## **About Mark Sorrell**

I’ve taught mathematics, science, and computing for over **10 years in schools across Australia and the UK**, and lecture Bachelor and Master of Teaching students at Tabor College. I hold a **PhD in Mathematics** and have published research in international journals.

I’m intimately familiar with the **Australian Curriculum (Maths & Science)**, and my teaching focuses on **using rich, meaningful tasks** to help students understand why mathematics works—not just memorize procedures.

My experience includes:

- Secondary and tertiary teaching in mathematics, science, and computing
- Online tutoring for primary and secondary students
- Developing curriculum, supervising research projects, and delivering professional development for teachers
